Company Information for Queensland Cotton Corp Ltd

Company Statement

We are a major supplier of premium cotton to the world's textile markets. Our company's success is attributed to quality products, services and valued relationships with suppliers, growers and cotton spinners.

At Queensland Cotton we regard ourselves as supply chain managers rather than a traditional cotton merchant. We play a key role in linking cotton producers and our spinning mill customers. We specialise in all stages of the marketing process including the acquisition, risk management, sale, classification, storage and transport of processed cotton.

  • To be a world class agribusiness delivering innovative solutions to producers, outstanding services to our customers, great value to our owners and a source of pride to our employees.
  • To be a leading Australian agribusiness, primarily based on cotton, providing quality products and services to the global market.
  • To reward shareholders with continued returns, while maintaining a sound financial base for future expansion.
To enhance our relationship with growers, cotton spinners and end users, to consistently ensure that all their quality needs are met.
  • To encourage a high standard of performance from employees by providing them with development in career opportunities and rewarding them appropriately for effort, initiative and dedication.
  • To provide a safe and healthy workplace and to minimise, where possible, the industry's impact on the environment.
  • To build a sustainable competitive advantage from our reputation as a superior raw cotton supply company.

The corporate vision will be achieved through:

  • Consistency of product quality on time and according to specification

Our gins are world class with stringent maintanance programs that focus on quality and safety. Queensland Cotton's ginning process protects and improves fibre qualities which benefits both producer and spinning mill.

Current Operations

Our experienced marketing team works hard to maintain and build customer based culture and remains focused on adding value. Our range of services assists growers to improve the fibre quality they produce and helps to ensure the product meets the specifications required by the spinner.

These services include:

  • Crop financing and merchandising of cotton and pulse planting seed, fertilisers and chemicals
  • Raw cotton transport and cotton ginning
  • Classing, warehousing and shipping
  • White seed trading
  • Pulse and specialty grain operations
  • Marketing and risk management

We work with cotton growers to help them optimise the quality of their product through integrated agronomic services and quality crop inputs. We handle their cotton with care and skill in the ginning process and our warehouse facilities provide storage and packing services.

Geographical Spread

As the worlds largest non-government owned cotton processor, Queensland Cotton operates 11 gins in Queensland and New South Wales, Australia, and 12 gins throughout California and Arizona in the United States.  The company has a total ginning capacity of over 1.5 million bales
