Company Statement

GrainCorp Limited is a publicly listed Australian agribusiness and the dominant bulk handling company on the east coast of Australia. We are committed to servicing the needs of the domestic and international grain markets from producers to buyers. The strength of our company infrastructure network and the diversification of services we provide put the Company in a unique position to provide value to our customers.GrainCorp operates over 250 grain accumulation sites, receiving and storing grain for growers in Queensland, NSW and Victoria.

GrainCorp’s business comprises storage and handling of grain and bulk commodities, grain and protein meal supply, flour milling and sale of farm inputs. GrainCorp operates primarily in Eastern Australia, across Queensland, New South Wales and Victoria. GrainCorp also has a range of services stretching across all mainland Australian states, and relationships with customers and suppliers around the world.

GrainCorp is focused on servicing the needs of domestic and international stockfeed, human grain and oilseed consumption and bulk commodity customers.

GrainCorp’s integrated and diversified infrastructure network and services enables the company to generate value along the whole supply chain and provide value added services to growers and other customers.

We offer ‘site to customer’ and ‘site to port’ supply chain solutions for domestic grian consumers and grain exporters.

GrainCorp also provides grain and bulk commodity export and import services at 9 port terminals: from Mackay (Queensland) to Portland (Victoria).

GrainCorp is the dominant joint venture partner in Allied Mills, Australia’s largest flour miller.

Allied Mills operates 10 flour mills and supplies a full range of flour-based products to supermarkets, the food service sector and the baking industry.

GrainCorp is the major supplier of grains to Allied Mills. ‘Mill run’ (bran & pollard) is a by-product of flour milling and is a major stockfeed milling input.

Hunter Grain, acquired by GrainCorp in 2007, imports and distributes protein meals from North and South America, and palm kernel and corn gluten from Asia, for poultry, dairy, pork, feedlot and other stockfeed customers.

Hunter Grain operates meal import and distribution centres at Kooragang Island (Newcastle), Brisbane, Geelong and Perth.

Community
The GrainCorp Foundation was formed in late 2000 as an initiative of the GrainCorp Board, with the mission to represent the Company's social responsibility to rural and regional communities.

The Foundation seeks to create and support opportunities that build on the initiative and potential of rural people in developing and growing the communities in which GrainCorp staff, shareholders and customers live and work.

Each year the Foundation allocates funds, a percentage of net profits, towards worthwhile projects.

Unfortunately the ongoing drought has meant the GrainCorp Foundation will not conduct a funding round in 2008, however, with the season picking up we are looking forward to being able to re-open applications in March 2009.

The GrainCorp Foundation was developed to build and support innovative and enduring programs in four key areas:

    *Education
    *Health
    *Youth development
    *Community development
